BUNJIL'S SISTERS

I blended natural pigments and soil from the land into the artwork - connecting it to the place that inspired it. The sisters stand in unity, guided by wisdom and held in the spirit of Bunjil. In Woiwurrung language Bunjil is the creator spirit and the wedge-tailed eagle, a powerful ancestral figure in many Aboriginal stories. Bunjil is a protector, a guide, and a symbol of wisdom, leadership and care for the land and people.
